About This Spot

Walking into AGAVE Kitchen is like stepping into a thoughtfully curated gathering spot perched above the lively streets of San José del Cabo’s historic center. The charm of its connected rooftops invites you to linger, blending open-air breezes with cozy, shaded corners where conversation unfolds at an easy pace. This isn’t just a place to eat — it’s where moments stretch out comfortably between shared plates and clinking glasses.

The mood here carries a warm kind of energy — lively without the rush, vibrant yet intimate. You might start by perusing thoughtfully crafted cocktails that nod to local traditions, served alongside dishes that feel at once familiar and inventive. The smooth, smoky notes of mezcal mingle with the fresh catch of the day, reflecting the rhythms of the Baja coast and the subtle heat of southern Mexico.

From wood-oven treats that bring out a smoky depth to the richness of short ribs braised to tender perfection, every bite seems designed to spark conversation and connection. The seafood offerings express a deep respect for the ocean’s bounty, while unexpected touches like seasonal salads or a passion-fruit sorbet infused with local herbs serve as refreshing pauses in the meal.

AGAVE Kitchen’s open yet intimate design echoes in the food’s balance — a place where culinary creativity meets the casual grace of a neighborhood spot you might come to know over time. In this atmosphere, attentive service feels natural, attentive but never intrusive, making space for the simple pleasure of good company and well-crafted flavors.

Whether you’re seeking a memorable dinner after wandering the center’s vibrant streets or a relaxed afternoon catch-up spot with friends, AGAVE Kitchen offers an experience that lingers just long enough to feel like a welcomed pause in your day.

Great service and atmosphere, enjoyed the ceviche and hummus guacamole. They have a great drink selection too however definitely on the pricier end.

This probably was the best meal of our trip to Cabos. The place is a series of connected rooftops with open air and enclosed areas. We ordered ceviche, wood-oven melted burrata, fish of the day, octopus and lechón. Cocktails were also excellent. I recommend the Oaxaca Mash.

Excellent service, nice atmosphere (and the air conditioning was a plus). I ordered the braised short rib ragout and it was delicious. The serving was a good size. My wife ordered the suckling pig and she loved it. There was quite a bit of pork left over so it made a nice lunch the next day.

Very delicious, elevated Mexican restaurant in the heart of San Jose. We loved the tuna tostada and all the mains. All the fish was exceptional.

A fabulous dinner for all! What a treat: we felt so special by the staff here. When ordering for 6, dinners can get overwhelming but the staff took exceptional care of us. We had a table with a gorgeous view of the sunset. After ordering our first round of drinks, the bartender offered us surprise drinks that tickled the taste buds--definitely trust them! Our starter to our after-dinner coffees were beautiful. The meal highlights were the totoaba fish prepared phenomenally and served with beautiful fresh tortillas. Also, anything roasted vegetable is out of this world amazing. The sauces and toasted nuts alongside the dishes give it the extra finish that just can't be replicated. Cheers to the chef and all of agave for giving us a memorable experience of food and views!

Wow! Wow! Wow! The suckling pig dish was out of this world. Best pork I have had in memory. Michelle had the Braised Beef fettuccine. It too was amazing. Definitely coming back here next time around these parts. Thursday nights is “The Art Walk” which just added to a perfect evening. And our waiter Joshua was AMAZING!!! Sorry I did not take a picture of the Suckling Pig.
